Homemade Ghee the Affordable Ghee

You can spend $11 on 13 oz. of store-bought ghee.

OR

You can spend $7 for 1.5 lbs (24oz) of grass-fed butter to make your own ghee.

What Is Ghee?

Ghee is clarified butter which means that it has been simmered at a very low heat to allow for separation of the proteins and the milk fat. After separating out the milk proteins many people can tolerate ghee more easily than butter. Ghee is also much easier to cook with since it doesn’t burn as quickly as butter. The benefits of ghee are similar to butter in that it contains the fat-soluble vitamins A and D if it comes from grass-fed cows.
